True, I use the sink more often than the cooktop. For me, it’s more decisive on what occasion and at what time I use what. I also spend more time in bed than on the sofa, and yet the bed does not get the ground floor south side facing the terrace. If you put the sink at the back, you spend most of the time with your back to the room and facing the wall; you use the sink much more often than the stove.
And when you have a shared breakfast with eggs, grated or pancake... And when you prepare several courses freshly and don’t want to leave the company for that... And when you get so caught up in talking that you quickly want to eat something and spontaneously fry up a few leftovers... And when you prefer to show off your cooking rather than your dishwashing skills... And... There are good reasons for a sink or a cooktop on the island (or both if there’s enough space – which is neither the case here nor in my home), but definitely no “better” or “worse.”And this casually standing at the stove and chatting only works when you’re cooking pasta and ground meat.
