We had everything open in the open-plan living area, even with children. You are always involved and no one is locked out of the kitchen. During the day it’s great, the central point of the house, and the children also had a retreat for their things. Regarding odors from the kitchen, no problem, with cross ventilation they dissipate well. In the evening the home cinema doesn’t run at full volume, depending on the number of doors. Now a family with 6 children lives in the 5-room house, and the little ones are always in sight. In the new house, just for the two of us, everything is open again.

So, now there is an update again after a long time. We have received the plans for preliminary project No. 2 and have now made a few considerations:

EG
- We want to have the partition wall between the hallway and the living room run straight
- the dining table will be freestanding and there will be a glass front around the corner, but with a pillar (because of the guide rail for the Venetian blind)
- we are still undecided about the pantry, rather no than yes (because of the basement)
- wardrobe and guest WC with shower fit

OG
- master bedroom ok
- children's room ok
- regarding the arrangement in the bathroom, I am afraid that there will be little daylight at the washbasin, how would you arrange the bathroom?

We are looking forward to your feedback :)

As soon as the layout of the basement is final, these will be drawn in; currently there are still some points open here (light well, dehumidification shaft, etc.)

I would place the tub under the window and not use such a space-saving coffin model. Instead, toilet and bidet in place of the tub.

I would rather swap the washbasin and the WC/Bidet so that daylight comes in from the side at the washbasin area. A few measurements would do the floor plan good.
