The Bauhaus style can only be implemented with a lot of space given the mass of objects that people own today. That was already the case in the past. The sleek style of the Villa Tugendhat is only possible due to the many utility rooms that the visitor does not see.
100 years ago – during the Bauhaus era :) – an average household in Germany managed with around 180 Gegenständen. Heute, according to the Federal Statistical Office, it is around 10,000 things that a German hoards within their four walls.
Above all, the style also adapts to mass taste until it has become the style ;-)
Ten thousand things, haha, the Federal Statistical Office does not yet know the local "List of things with which one has to clutter up their storage room" thread :)
