Btw. - I took another look at the posted floor plan. You might want to reconsider the idea of another user about swapping the guest room and kitchen. How often do you have guests and how often do you use the kitchen? Why does the guest room need to be larger than the kitchen? Also - if the kitchen is placed in the guest room, the pipes (water) might be shorter since the utility room + guest WC are right next to it. However, I don't see where the main bathroom is, which is on the upper floor. Of course, we don't know your property. Therefore, there might also be limitations regarding the dishwasher, which is why the kitchen was planned there so far.

Just saying... We had a newly built apartment for 13 years with a kitchen of about 2x2 meters (without a window but with a large pass-through). In it was an L-shaped kitchen and under the pass-through (which made the kitchen appear "large" and bright) a small dining table where the four of us ate. We simply removed the sliding door and it worked wonderfully.. Unbelievable from today's perspective..

Steffi, what size was your table?

The room is almost 2.80 m wide. I have now sketched it out and if I calculate 60 cm depth for the kitchen, 1 m as a passage, there would be a good meter left for a table, chairs, and a passage to the living room. I think now, that can't be comfortable. Widening by 1 m would solve the problem. But it also costs 27,000 euros. Hmm, when you start wanting to change these floor plans, it quickly gets really expensive.

Or, as has been said several times, maybe it simply is not the right floor plan.

You may be right there. In a rental apartment you learn to live with compromises. But in your own house, you try to implement your wishes (as long as it doesn't get too expensive). As the saying goes: "You only build once."

What are the dimensions of the guest room? The floor plan you posted shows it clearly wider. Or is there a reason that definitely rules out an exchange?
