Here is a picture of a stone staircase, the kind I meant.

The last floor plan is of course also possible without a balcony:

Second to last version again with fewer doors in the entrance area:

For this, the utility room door has to go, and we lose a bit of depth in the living room - but we are still at 4m. However, now there is a 2m wardrobe - also nice.
The stairs run halfway through the utility room. There, they are visible from below in the utility room - so you can still put something underneath.

Wow, thanks again for the idea. The size and thickness are probably correct, although women can certainly judge that better.

However, we want to avoid an I-shaped kitchen/living/dining area. We really like it here if it could be implemented as an L-shape. We had already looked at several show homes, and the L-shape was simply nicer for us. That's why a rectangle with much longer dimensions on one side is probably not good for us :-(

Unfortunately, I don't understand (or can hardly imagine) why the upper floor of kaho674's design, from 9.5 to 10.2, is more coherent than in my design in the initial thread. This is not meant as criticism, but what is different there? Ok, the dressing room is separately accessible. That would also be possible in the other upper floor. Otherwise, I don't see any other major advantages. Or is a larger hallway upstairs also beneficial?

It is only slightly so. Two things that catch the eye: First, the child should ideally not sleep next to the parents' bedroom due to noise. Second, the egg-and-spoon race around the bed has already been complained about regarding the dressing area. A bed facing south is also not everyone's preference without air conditioning. But with a little musical chairs, it is probably all solvable.

Originally, there is actually a U-shaped kitchen with a rather small u at this point. But if the room is not pleasing, we will just keep looking...
