We will indeed reconsider the entrance area. We also saw a new building that, despite having a garage directly attached to the house with a side entrance, still had a small platform. It was only one step, but it really didn’t look bad. If you think about later on, a ground-level entrance might not be such a bad idea. But then you would also have to build a bungalow if you think like that . As I said, we will definitely rethink the entrance area. Also the possibility of still getting into the garden from there.

Yes, the side entrance area is indeed not optimal and also not our favorite. But we have also played through many possibilities there, including with the floor plans from kaho674. It’s just that somehow we didn’t manage to arrange our rooms as we wanted. Well, maybe it even fits well into the building area. About 5 out of 7 houses there have a side entrance.

But you should start building pretty soon; the chance that Cologne will become champion next season is quite high. Even if it’s only as second division champion

I don't find anything bad about side entrances, at least not when, as here, there is a "run-up" as wide as a double garage. That is quite a different league than having to sneak through an alleyway to get there. It would just be (with the same portal width) half a tone higher if the entrance were on the stately front side. That somewhat awards points for the difference between a city villa and a substitute villa.

Hello everyone, I hope I’m not annoying you with this thread yet.

I just wanted to get your opinion on the following possible change. In the ground floor layout from post #121, I might consider swapping the utility room with the WC/wardrobe. The following considerations apply:

Positive:

- Less noise from the utility room in the living area
- Possibly more space in the entrance area, since you have to walk a bit further to the wardrobe and don’t have to wait for the front door to close again
- Maybe place a chair under the stairs as a seating area to put on shoes
- Washing machine/dryer would then be a bit further away from the bedroom upstairs

Negative:

- Maybe somewhat unusual not to have the wardrobe right by the front door??
- Probably a bit more dirt in the hallway during winter due to the shoes (Maybe place a tray for the shoes near the door?)

In the end, at first glance, the advantages would outweigh the disadvantages for me. What do you think? I would appreciate a few opinions.

Hihi, back then I just didn’t want to unsettle you with the question of why like that. I think it’s largely a matter of taste, but smarter the way you now want to change it.

Thanks for your answer. I think it’s definitely a matter of taste, but for me, the advantages would actually outweigh the disadvantages with this option.

I’m not going to let myself be unsettled, don’t worry. But I’m still grateful for any input, even if I/we don’t implement or change everything accordingly.
