Neither would I - what is your motive? From my point of view, the "cheap" 2-unit row prefab garage detracts from the overall appearance, which otherwise gives me quite a pleasant impression for such a silly substitute villa.

Oh, I forgot: Laundry is also done in the utility room, right? Instead of a regular window, I would install a narrow patio door there as a direct access to the garden.

I consider direct garden access past the house essential for any house. On the other hand, one would have to trample through the front garden? At least that's how I read it.

Besides, this would allow the floor plan modification I still favor. Also because of the furnishing options for the kitchen.

Phew, thanks for the many suggestions.

We designed this floor plan for two builders. Both said that we can pave right up to the front door and therefore wouldn’t need a platform. Hopefully, this can really be implemented that way.

A door from the utility room into the garden is definitely worth considering!! You can hang the laundry in the garden right away.

We also discussed a door immediately after the entrance to the pantry; that’s still not completely off the table.

We chose the double garage because we need space for 3 cars and at least 2 of them should have a dry spot. We haven’t had much joy with just 1 garage so far. It will be a brick garage with a large door. If we leave space between the garage and the house here, then we have very little space towards the neighbor in the southwest. It’s already a bit tight, unfortunately :-(. A direct path to the back garden would be really nice.

You find the overall impression quite appealing? That would make me happy, I know you’re not a fan of such a cube.

I would:
Consider the platform as a given. Because it can be/always is the case that at the start of construction you always have to make sure you get above street level. That is often “estimated,” so you have to reckon with at least a 10/15 cm high platform.
I also agree with Chand that a house should also be accessible from the back.
A passage or a garage that offers more shelter on the side of the house is charming and practical.
To accommodate the second and third little cars (you don’t have to roof every car*) I would build a double carport in front of the living room window...
It also has the advantage that you can throw washing machine parties under the carports.

*do you have to roof all three cars???

No, you don’t have to cover all 3 cars. The double garage is also practical for us in that we want to use it as storage space at the same time (bicycles, etc.). We don’t have a basement. The garage is not the one in the picture. It is supposed to be 6x8m and thus provide enough storage space. I know that doesn’t make the missing passage any better.

Maybe a carport directly at the house and a garage next to it would be an option. That way we would have a passage to the garden. At least that would be an alternative.

A carport in front of the WZ? But that would take away all the light?

We can also celebrate [Weltmeisterschafts-Partys] in the garden. Unfortunately not this year yet.
