Hello Martin,
the roof is on with us, the windows are in, and the plasterers have already done a really great job on the upper floor. The ground floor is still pending.
From Wednesday we will be laying the floor insulation in EL. I’m curious to see how much effort that will be.
Regarding the burn-in barrier:
We applied it with rollers in a mixing ratio of 1:2 (that’s what we were told). For that, I simply bought two rollers with handles and two drip grids at the hardware store. There was also a somewhat larger brush for the corners, my cordless drill with a mixing paddle (can also be done by hand), a simple bucket for the first mixture, and a meter to determine the quantities for the mixing ratio.
Roll the rollers nicely on the drip grids, otherwise you’ll have the whole stuff on the floor. Then distribute evenly.
For the first attempts, I recommend wearing a cap, long-sleeved clothes, and gloves, as it does splash a bit. Or just take a brush into the shower with you. Over time it gets easier. In my opinion, respiratory protection is not necessary.
If you keep at it with two people, you should be done in 2-3 days.
