The start of construction and handover would be stated in the contract anyway. Otherwise, we would still have the contract checked by the Builders' Protection Association before signing.

As already mentioned, increases during construction can be avoided with a [GU] without a price escalation clause... Those still exist

Regarding name mentions:
In recommendations - even those with reservations - this is unproblematic. Otherwise, there is a moderated section here for "Experiences with construction companies" (if I recall correctly, however, the Fleischerhaus thread was not there, as it dealt with significantly worse behavior than merely, as here, skating on the borderline between being cunning and brazen - but without names).
.

I recommend you to familiarize yourself with the "11ant stone mantra" ;-)

Choose your second favorite stone and the favorite stone of the executing company :D

Sort of: the most trusted of the executing company, even if it’s only the second best in your own preference (or that of "objective criteria"). But above all in general: weigh the executing company (or the "chemistry" between the client and them) higher than measurement values and the like. And above all: never miss a good provider just because they don’t have the favorite material in their assortment. By the way, the "stone mantra" also applies beyond stones. I would even— but please don’t tell anyone! —prefer PVC windows from a good installer occasionally over aluminum (if the latter were installed by a sloppy klutz).
