Unpredictability of construction costs - Will the project fail because of it?

This is a misunderstanding :) The lady with the butcher's house didn't write here at all :) Rather, it was the gentleman who backed out of the first terraced house in Stuttgart and now has a new one in hand. Nothing is finished yet. I don't know if they have started.

Most answers were definitely helpful and constructive. However, there were also one or two who portrayed us quite stupidly and spoke condescendingly, especially at the beginning regarding the topic of the construction company and KfW, and those were the only ones I was addressing with this. I definitely did not want to attack or belittle anyone else.
