Are there still costs for planning services or similar? Or have you also gotten out of that?

No, in my opinion, your legal advisor assesses it correctly. A signed offer is the acceptance of it and thus a contract has been formed. Which must be fulfilled immediately. But you are out of it now, so no longer relevant.

Unfortunately, they have denied this several times. Well, good for us, if there is no contract we can also just get out..

Yes, unfortunately, the costs for the planning still apply. We were advised to seek legal counsel and possibly also to demand the prepayment penalty back from the construction company. Not sure if that makes sense?

I would say it depends on the amount involved. Under certain circumstances, you may incur additional costs if the whole thing goes to court and you lose there. And: Something like that can of course drag on and be nerve-wracking.

I rather assume that the house construction topic is off the table. As I said, finding a new construction company in such a short time is almost impossible, and the problem with unpredictable construction costs still remains. After all the mistakes, I have definitely lost interest in building a house.
