Single-family house 175 sqm without basement, too big?

Oh really? Well, it doesn't make much sense to jump into a thread somewhere in the middle.

I always find it funny when:

a) the symmetry of the exterior view is more important than the quality of life inside, and they are not willing to move or split windows.
b) people obsessively try to fit all the nice to haves into the smallest houses without making compromises.

This is not explicitly directed at the OP, but in my opinion, many home builders set absolutely wrong priorities!
Just like the saying goes: the main thing is that the neighbors have a nice house view, which is why I gladly give up quality of life...

You couldn’t have known, no problem. I will still think about the layout again

I think you’re kind of referring to me, otherwise you wouldn’t mention it in this topic, right? So feel free to go ahead with any criticism. I am always happy to listen. I anyway have the feeling that the floor plan was way too quickly considered way too optimal

a little bit, yes
You want a straight staircase, a bedroom with a dressing room and access to the bathroom. In addition, an extra toilet with a window.
Unfortunately, this does not work with this living area, or at least not optimally without changing something about the window surfaces.

But I never said that I am not willing to change anything about the window areas. To be honest, the symmetry from the outside doesn't matter to me at all. What you might be thinking of: I am not willing to do without a large window in the bathroom in favor of a separate toilet. That was the case with an initial idea that I did not publish here. With my latest idea, one can simply install a window in the toilet as well, and that’s that.

I don’t see it that strictly now. OK, the passage from dressing room to bathroom – I think that’s nonsense because it always forces a second door in the bathroom, which is annoying. But otherwise, the design isn’t bad.
One has to say that this is not an unknown floor plan. It exists in similar versions as a standard and has been tried and tested several times. I’m just saying Neo from Fingerhaus. (Sorry if I’m now robbing you of the illusion of your unique design genius. )
