@ Wanderdüne

I try not to interpret, so I wanted to know from you what you mean.

"Introverted" is translated by the Duden as "turned inward, closed off" or also "focused on one's own inner life." The adjective is always used in the description of a living being.

In connection with a location, the characteristic of a room, this is new to me.

I wouldn't have thought that a catchy transfer would poke into a Duden-technical hornet's nest. I confess, in this respect, to being both a thought criminal and, in the future, a repeat offender with a commitment to a non-static handling of our language.

I fear that the next introverted living room is already.... lurking ;) .

Good evening,

Mhmm - was that maybe one Sangria too many ... for me of course? I allow myself to ask for further explanation even in this statement.

I have learned that architects are often children of artists ... are you perhaps also working in a creative profession? By any chance, I´m able to change the subject ...

Rhenish greetings

Hello,

I'm glad the discussion here has continued. I should have asked what exactly is behind the term.

It is an independent architect commissioned by us but only up to level 4. Surely, you can't expect a detailed cost plan up to that point, but 40% above our stated price expectation in the first rough offers was simply not feasible. It's not worth tendering in detail then. I don't want to criticize the architect here either. It's simply a creative process where the result is not determined from the beginning, and he continues to support us with the new planning.

I have been thinking over the comments, considered further, inserted wall thicknesses, and made the living room somewhat more 'extroverted' through the other door to the guest/workroom.

At first, I also planned with paper, but then I always had to start over to change something small. On the computer, I can now try things out much faster and thus make progress. The floor plan is certainly not exciting. It doesn't have to be. We want a house that is well thought out in terms of layout, which doesn't become more expensive than necessary.

I have rearranged a few things in the floor plan and attached a first draft of the upper floor. The windows are certainly not final but rather placeholders or tests of how things work. I also tried a sketch of the plot. The planned house is orange (ridge line - red line). The building area is the blue polygon. Next to it is purple, the possible building area for a garage. The plot slopes about 1.20 m downwards from the residential block towards the right villa (black rectangle). The house floor plan is now just under 10.50 x 10.50 m. A carport is to be built between the house and the garage, serving simultaneously as a covered entrance and, at the rear, closed off as a shed.

I know it all still looks quite amateurish, but the final polish should come from a professional.

I look forward to further constructive comments. Thanks!

Best regards, LiquidSky

Hello,

regarding the upper floor:

- Dressing room without door
- Dressing room without window
- Passage to the toilet between wall and shower much too narrow

All in all, I think it’s good that you are thinking about your possible room layout, but by doing so you are also limiting yourself in many ways that a professional could show you.

In our selection process, we created a list of requirements that we then handed to various builders and let ourselves be surprised by the results.

Ultimately, we awarded a contract to one company, but also incorporated several elements from other offers into their design.

Best regards,

Dirk

Hello,

I honestly doubt that everything will work like that. A planner would certainly be advisable! The basic idea fits.

The shower on the ground floor is a situation! Where should one put their clothes or dry off, etc.? You really don't need it.
To be honest – the guests I let stay at my place also use my shower upstairs...

The access to the utility room looks tight. It would benefit from improvement.

How is the staircase supposed to be designed? I can't imagine it being open by the front door like that. Is there an example for that?

On the upper floor: I agree with my predecessor +
I would put the bedroom next to the bathroom, that separates the sleeping areas of parents and children.
