Yes, the thing with the children's room is tricky, I have to admit that. What you can't know, since you joined late: The son will be 14 at the time of the move, which means we are really talking about a limited number of years that he will still be with us. He consistently closes the blinds again in his room when I open them for ventilation. I'm just being selfish and say that I don't see why I should give him the nicer room because he might possibly appreciate it for some short moments in a few years.

Oh yes: I would also have liked the faster access to the kitchen, I agree with you on that. But I didn't find a good solution to get to the office then. Besides, the space for the kitchen would be quite limited if there was an additional access to the hallway. So that was one of the compromises I had to make. The current wish of the son, by the way, is a beverage fridge for his room, which would pretty much solve the cola chill area problem.

But you didn't say anything about the arrangement on the property. How do you like it?

If you’re unlucky, the son still lives with you at 30
that’s not so unusual nowadays anymore.

And to make this option even more appealing to him, he should be provided with every conceivable comfort (see attachment of the thread, separate kitchen, separate bathroom, apartment)?

A good reason to avoid shutters altogether. I also have a guy like that in my house who constantly rolls them all down – but out of fear of burglars (I know, the shutters don’t really help, that’s what makes it so crazy). I wish I had never had any installed.

Well, 14 is tricky. Maybe he’ll stay until 27, maybe only until 17. But apart from that, placing the bed in the sun hardly ever makes sense. So when your son really moves out, you have a nice room to, for example, do sports, or set up the sewing machine, or learn to play a musical instrument, computer room, craft room, who knows. Just sleeping there is always a total waste.

I think it’s very good as it is. Apart from the pool. I don’t like those. I’m more in the pond faction if there has to be a water feature.

If I design the bathroom and bedroom the way you suggested, the "wing" would only be about 2.95m wide. On the currently planned side, it is 3.65m. In my opinion, this makes bathroom planning difficult, aside from the fact that the dressing room would also be shorter, etc. I will recreate this in my program later, but right now I don't have time.

I find the suggestion from better than your original one for the attic. You can even completely close off the WC and make it accessible from the hallway if you move it all the way to the right side of the plan! Then you'll also have a window there. If you don't want a bathtub, I think the bathroom feels very cold because it is too large. But as always, it's a matter of taste.
