On the other hand, not really enough for me to understand why the topic is now about electric cars ...

You are absolutely right, sorry to the OP :-(

The transition was the question of whether photovoltaic + heat pump or gas boiler. Cheaper at the moment is the latter.
Better and more future-proof from my subjective point of view is the former.

This has nothing to do with the original question anymore.. I also like to let a physicist keep his belief in #Laden zum Auto# and say goodbye.

To tie it back to economical building: The argument only holds if the homeowner drives a lot by car. A special case, IMHO. (Footnote: It is also assumed that the solar power harvested during the day can be charged into the car at night.) Economically, it is still IMHO better to leave out all that stuff and just build "simply." If necessary, photovoltaic can also be retrofitted; countless roof surface owners have proven this during the times when there were still generous subsidies.

The question is, do I even still need to refuel? The vision is that the energy supply, in whatever form, is delivered directly through the road. Then you only need small batteries for off-road trips.

Back to the house. I grew up with shipping. That is very Anglo-Saxon influenced. Motto: Keep it simple, rugged, seaworthy. Function, ease of maintenance, operational reliability, little control technology, lots of mechanics that can also be repaired in Mombasa....that is not wrong for building technology either. The cheapest investment is always the one where the technician never has to come. Therefore: gas, RegelAir, solar only for hot water, no controlled residential ventilation, no KNX, no smart home, no steam cooker, no AAAAA++++ dishwasher, no bells and whistles. That is my view of things. Karsten
