But you just have to look at who hangs around in this forum... just based on the professions and the reported salaries here, I would now say that mainly the upper middle class is represented here. The simple craftsman who works on construction sites every day and brings home less than €2,000 net is rarely here in the forum... but he also builds... and usually even at a fraction of the cost of winnetou78, nordlys, or me... because, due to the large circle of friends, which also mainly consists of craftsmen, the entire construction is carried out independently.

And I am simply of the opinion that the standards of those present here are occasionally a bit higher... which is also okay... many of those present here often say: "If I build, then I build it right!"... whether for themselves or to present something outwardly, that's beside the point... but there are also plenty who just build to own something of their own... to feel comfortable in their own four walls, to be able to do whatever they want... simply to want the luxury of a garden... here the desire for ownership is bigger and more important than the equipment or the nice gimmicks that one might build into such a house.

And those people will certainly feel just as comfortable in their own home as those with luxury fittings.

This topic makes me happy. Because suddenly I realize. Karsten, you are completely normal. Not just Winnetou, but others too and even more and more simply build a plain, simple, livable, heated, nice, affordable house. And manage it for plus minus 200 plus land. Yes, more Aldi customers, Astra drivers, flower shorts wearers, canned beer drinkers, three-legged grill owners need to move into the building areas. So that it gets cozy. Karsten

You're right, everyone should really do as they please. And for me, when I build, I do it properly. I actually try not to skimp anywhere, for me this is already my upper price range. I don't need more. A tile with 50 sqm I find nice and more than sufficient.

I don’t want Astra and I don’t want canned beer either. Actually, it’s only here that I’m being told how cheap I build without gimmicks. I didn’t even know that before.

As I said, I don't want to keep dwelling on the regional difference. But it is simply the case that our price here is rather on the higher end. It can be done 30,000 cheaper here. As I wrote earlier, I have an addition to the construction service description of 30,000, which means I could have had my house for just under 139,000 (only the turnkey house), but then with gas, concrete roof tiles, without underfloor heating, etc. But you could have easily lived in it there, and that is also how 80 percent of houses are built here.

Doesn't have to be... but usually is. Everyone has their own standards. For me, store-bought goods or an Ikea kitchen would definitely not be an option. If you want to save money there... then rather a nice rental apartment.
