Back to the house. I grew up with shipping. That is very Anglo-Saxon influenced. Motto: Keep it simple, rugged, seaworthy. Function, ease of maintenance, operational reliability, little automation, lots of mechanics that can also be repaired in Mombasa.... that's also not wrong for building technology. The cheapest investment is still the one where the technician never has to come. Therefore: gas, RegelAir, solar only for hot water, no controlled residential ventilation, no KNX, no smart home, no steam cooker, no AAAAA++++ dishwasher, no fuss. That's how I see things. Karsten
You can also keep living in a cave That’s even cheaper... to me that sounds like people who always tell me, "You with your tech-packed Audi... if something breaks, constant trips to the workshop and so on"..Funny thing is, I’ve been driving cars like that for over 10 years and NEVER had a problem. Only others are constantly running to the workshop because their "no-tech" cars break down
It’s also always funny when people say.."You with your KNX fancy stuff... what if the power goes out"..Well, then? Then the lights go out at my place just like at yours! Only that with me the BUS (including alarm, smoke detectors, etc.) is still running thanks to UPS...
