Usually too old
Therefore removed and replaced

The demolition contractor knows whether this can be done easily or if something still needs to be clarified

The utility providers must shut off the supply and the [Hausanschluss Strom] must be dismantled

Thank you Haydee. What exactly is too old? Everything is currently working. Or would costs arise for me again in 20 years because it has to be done then? And then it would be more difficult because the new house already partially stands over the lines.

Depending on how old it is, it often no longer complies with the current regulations. We also demolished an existing house. The wastewater transfer shaft was renewed at the end of the 90s, which we then reused. The rest we could no longer use. The drinking water was a steel pipe from the 60s... they don’t want to use that anymore either, rainwater was drained through an infiltration shaft, which was no longer permitted, and the electricity was in the wrong place.

O.k., I thought you save money if you leave inspection shafts, [Rigole] intact instead of filling them in and having them re-excavated. What's wrong with steel, nowadays it's made from plastic. I prefer drinking from steel rather than plastic. It's clear that the other pipes are also made of plastic, but sometimes the dose makes the poison.

Question about the ancillary costs part construction water: I almost always read that this has cost several hundred euros for many. Therefore, I have also budgeted costs for it. I just wonder how they want to bill that? Are there flat rates or do you have a meter on the construction water tap? In our area, I only know these free-standing construction water taps without meters, and so far I have neither received an invoice for moving the tap, the emergency service coming out (they cut the construction water line), nor for the water consumption until the installation of the water meter in the utility room?!
