I don’t keep a household budget book, but off the top of my head:
- Food: €400
- Insurance: liability €5, car liability: €40? No other insurance so far
(This will of course change with the house)
- Fuel: We both almost exclusively ride bikes, so a tank fill lasts us months
Repairs: ? I do all the brakes on the car and similar things myself. No other equipment has broken so far that I couldn’t repair. Maybe luck.
- Leisure: club fee €10 per person.
My girlfriend does Zumba, volleyball, and dances for that. I’m into table tennis and volleyball.
Beaching with friends, bike tours, barbecuing or swimming at the lake, meeting friends at home... all free.
Before Corona, we were very active in leisure and have a huge circle of friends, so I really didn’t miss anything before Corona.

This was not a comprehensive list of our expenses, just examples of why people can have very different expenses.

What about gifts? Entrance fees? Vacation? Flowers? Personal care hygiene, music, xbox games, disability insurance, electronics, clothes, phone, newspapers, backpack, sports equipment, etc. Do you really give up on everything?

I say yes, it definitely doesn’t include all expenses.
But regarding your points:
Gifts: yes, but small things
Admission fees: yes, but once a year to the zoo, once to an amusement park and a few times to the swimming pool, so manageable
Vacation: yes gladly, but mostly camping or couchsurfing
Flowers: only from the garden
Care products: 1 deodorant, 1 shampoo, Nivea 5 euros??
Honestly no idea what this item amounts to
Music, xbox, Amazon Prime, Netflix: no
Games: we have several board games. We don’t have computer games.
Disability insurance: no
Electronics: TV is 10 years old.
Laptop every few years, but the last one was for example a gift.
Cell phone: single-digit amount for data volume, otherwise cheap phones that are used until they break.
Clothes: if something breaks, it gets replaced. We definitely don’t need a wardrobe...
Newspaper: no, but can read the bedroom newspaper through work
Backpack, sports equipment: I’ve had my backpack since my school days. Knee pads for 15 years...

I would urgently recommend it, especially considering your nickname. BU is not without reason considered one of THE most important insurances. What about accident insurance? Especially if you are very active in sports? But otherwise: quite economical. Living rent-free with parents is worthwhile.

Is such a life worth living? Senseless excessive consumption is certainly not desirable, but targeted purchases, even in the high-price segment, are in my view worth it (this also includes a house with appropriate equipment) Of course, this is just my perspective, I find your way of life interesting.

Yeah, we didn't have that either. 15,000 as a private loan from the parents. We have paid it back almost completely in 4 years.
