Education should cost as little as possible so that everyone who wants to can have free access. The jobs of the future increasingly require broad experience and trained specialists. Even in simple crafts jobs like baker, butcher, or mason, the share of technology/digitalization and complex processes is rising. Even if progress there is 1000 times slower than, for example, in pure IT companies...

I agree. But that doesn’t change the current financing situation. Swiss clinics, by the way, are very, very happy to hire doctors who are fully trained in DE beforehand...

Well, you could implement it like this. Free studies if you manage to finish within the standard period of study and then stay for xy years paying taxes and social contributions. If you leave immediately afterwards, you just have to pay for the studies (installment payment with a low interest rate 5% above the base rate possible) :p.

but not in the normal middle-class sector without property ownership etc. Not all academics are management consultants, lawyers, or doctors.

Yes, of course. Especially in today's pandemic times, you need a home office with all the proportional costs like internet, telephone, etc. Just as an example.

That's peanuts behind which real additional costs also stand. That is far from the possibilities that income millionaires and companies have. They calculate themselves so poor that they don't pay a single cent in taxes and even receive subsidies...
