Building services rooms get quite warm. A separation might possibly be worth considering. Possibly omit the exterior door in favor of more floor space.

Then it is good that you only call it age-appropriate without steps.

Reproducing your floor plan would mean needing a bit more floor space and then tackling the expansion of the attic one child later - in my opinion definitely worth considering. My tendency would be rather the opposite: put the study upstairs right away and reduce the floor area. Maybe the original poster will browse a bit through the thread of another young settlement house builder: You can’t be serious: a double bed storage room as a bedroom substitute even gets a corner cut off as a treat so you can get to the children’s back room – where is that a very good floor plan?

What you criticize, the too small, chopped-up bedroom, is indeed fixable if you think Danish-style and access the so-called children's room from the living room and then don't need the hallway at the back at all. For a home office that is not intended for receiving clients, that's completely fine; for a children's room with a real child, however, it might be too noisy. Well, a baby might still be okay, but then... the room has to move upstairs. That's generally the disadvantage of living on one level: you're close together and hear each other a lot. On the other hand, an apartment is like that anyway. Imitating my floor plan wouldn't be an issue in terms of space; they have enough land. He would only postpone the attic conversion. But that wasn't the reason to show it. It is an example of a usable but not space-consuming staircase. A straight staircase really takes up space and requires long, wide corridors. karsten

I would definitely swap the children's room and the bathroom. 8sqm cleverly divided is enough for a bathroom with a tub. Then I would also swap the kitchen and the utility room, but keep the sizes the same. I haven't read the other posts at all. However, I find the rooms somewhat small and the hallway very large for the floor area.

Come on! Crumple up the draft and put it in the round bin - no swapping anything will help there. A new idea is needed. And think about whether the visitor or you want to enter the house with your dirty laundry or clean laundry. Alternative: omit the front door. The house is too small for 2 entrances and two dining tables. You don’t need endless surface area in the living room either.
