Maybe I simply have a misunderstanding: For me, 1m Drempel with 10 cm floor structure is where the beams are currently 1.1m above the current floor. From this point, I measured to the window and at one spot that is 2.17 m.

Sample calculation North: 0.6 m (from KS to Drempel) + 2.13 m (Drempel - window) + 1.2 m (window) + 1.6 m (window - window) + 1.2 m (window) + 2.17 m (window - Drempel) + 0.6 m (Drempel - KS) plus 2 x 0.49 m exterior wall structure equals 10.48 m compared to 10.49 m according to the plan. Either I mismeasured by 1 cm or the house is 1 cm narrower than planned.

Am I completely wrong about the above?

Argh, no ... that will certainly be another 8 cm per side that will be lost. The beams are 20 cm deep, but would get 24 cm insulation. However, there are battens here that add 4 cm more depth to the beam. The carpenter had clarified this with the structural engineer. It could be mitigated by, for example, a 0.90 m knee wall instead of a 1.00 m knee wall. We were recommended 0.8 m knee wall anyway, but we are not convinced of that yet. I always drew with 1.0.

Throwing it out there again: why don't you stay in the bedroom downstairs? Then there is better space upstairs for two adequate children's rooms, a usable bathroom, and a practical storage room.
Why is the bedroom completely sufficient now, but suddenly no longer when there are children???
As I said: I would rather consider turning the room behind the living room into a walk-in closet and maybe a small chamber upstairs as a study. Then you can still use the bedroom accordingly!
What is the room supposed to be used for if you then squeeze yourselves upstairs with four people?

And how were we supposed to know the 0.6 m?

Toddlers usually still sleep with their parents, and that is not possible on the ground floor. After that, my girlfriend would at least initially like to be close to the children's rooms. Later, you can move back downstairs and repurpose the bedroom. Therefore, perhaps indeed forgo the storage room and use the corner of the bedroom for the vacuum cleaner.

I had posted it here. But with the 0.5 m I probably forgot the floor structure, the trial calculation corrected it.
