I will not go into further detail on the request to build a completely different house. Practically, that may well have its advantages. However, we also want to feel comfortable when "driving onto the driveway" and not always think from the outside: "Man, we should have built it impractical but more beautiful in our eyes."

This is the current status in the upstairs floor. Red lines are intended to indicate how we still want to move the walls to give the office a few more centimeters.

We were at the model park over the weekend and specifically looked at small bedrooms. Basically, we believe that the space is enough for sleeping. Generous, however, is something else.

How do the forum pros see this?

What do the alternatives look like? I think it's okay like this – bigger would be nicer, yes.

If it were my house, I would plan a light well in the basement and move the office there. Then there would be more space upstairs for the bedroom. A matter of money.

Hm, this solution was driven out of the village by mobs with torches in other threads as a combination of work/guest.

There were statements like "makes you depressed," "but the radon," "think of the children," and "if I have to sleep in the basement as a guest, I'll go straight to the hotel and never come back."

Your basement in the south would have a normal window front, since there was a slope there, if I remember correctly. Plus the light well - that makes it bright as day. Without the slope it would be bad, because too dark. Every property is different.

With the cabinets, however, I would revert to the wall layout previously planned between the children's rooms. I haven't found any posts relating to your quotes – but unexpectedly alarmingly many in which the word "Radon" occurs.

In the children's rooms, I would also plan skylight windows and a wider window in the office.
