So far, we have only budgeted €200 for a replacement beam so that - if we ever actually do it - we can get through the ceiling without cutting. Then a staircase will go from the hallway up. This staircase would then be clad on the side with drywall and fitted with built-in cabinets from below. So the dressing room would be reduced by about 1/3. We have only planned this as an option. I actually don’t want to touch it for the next 20 years. Just in case! After all, we have plenty of room under the roof and if we ever want/need to use it, at least we can get to it without major difficulties. I’m not sure right now whether that’s serious or irony.... I actually didn’t want to walk in circles, but I don’t want to always be forced to take the long way. That would probably annoy me terribly after a very short time.

That’s why I see the staircase more in the office - then the dressing room stays. A staircase there would turn it into a small storage room with an open staircase.

Yes, walking through the south and west wings can be tiring.

Yes, that's exactly what we had also considered – actually. But my wife needs the lockable office. If that becomes a pass-through room, that's no good. Then for me, the whole room would have more the feel of a secondary hallway.

By the way, we would arrange it in drywall construction so that when entering the dressing room, the space remains closed; the door is to stay, too. So, in my opinion, the dressing room would be "only" less practical because there wouldn't be a straight wall on the bathroom-facing side anymore. The staircase would be basically enclosed and run alongside the dressing room. I'll try to make a sketch tonight.

We don't want to "walk laps" We say it like that here when there isn't just one access, but you can "walk in circles" between the rooms LR/DR/Kitchen, depending on the various processes of the day...

We are slowly becoming glad about our buffer. The "special requests" are just pouring into our mailbox. Most recently, the extra charge for the thin format clinker brick we chose. We would like the joint color to be a bit darker than in the picture.

In the next 1-2 weeks, the earthworks are finally supposed to start. We are incredibly excited!
