We have fixed glazing, but a low window band. Will something be placed in front of the exterior wall? Can you really access it from outside?

Nothing goes in front of the exterior wall. We only have 3m to the street and 4m to the next neighbor.

At the corner there are also the channels, so you can't plant any larger trees/bushes or anything like that.

Regarding window cleaning, I am not worried at all - rather about the lack of possibility to ventilate.

Isn't it an option for you to switch to a "classic kitchen window"? That is, opening at the top (1-2 sashes) and a fixed part at the bottom regarding the faucet. If you want the same look around the corner, you can also install it twice.

?!

I think two fixed glazed windows would be too inflexible for me. The south window can be made with a tilt-and-turn fitting.

What do you want to ventilate if you have a ventilation system? And if so, then you would have another window by the island?! We do operate the windows in our house now and then when we want to go outside – for ventilation we use our terrace window, which quickly ventilates 60 sqm in no time. I have never felt the need to stretch over the 60 cm countertop to reach the window to open it. But that's up to you – you asked

True, that's easier if I just go over to the window front facing the garden.

Basically, I'm a bit uncertain regarding cooking odors. Firstly, I have never had a good extractor hood and certainly no good recirculation hood. However, I haven't heard any major complaints about the devices from the level of Bora/Miele. Also, I have never (consciously) been in a single-family house with controlled residential ventilation. Therefore, I currently cannot assess whether it would bother me somehow.

We will leave it as a fixed-glass element for now. I take it as a positive that I wasn't immediately stoned. Even if the last sentence risks triggering the forum elephant. ;)
