I would like the bathroom to face the garden because no one can look in there. I could then look out the back while bathing. But I will think about it again whether that is necessary. I would prefer both children's rooms to face the front with large windows.

Windows to the left and right don't help much because there are two tall neighboring houses there.

In our second version, you would exit through the bedroom and that's it. You would have to go through the hallway, but just around the corner. I'm not sure if I like the sliding doors from the architect's version.

What contractual basis do you have so far?

You have to decide that; in my opinion, it makes less sense.

With good planning, this does not have to be a contradiction.

Here, too, you have to make the decision.
It makes little sense to plan a parents’ area and then still include a (shared) corridor.
Sliding doors between rooms with access to exterior walls can create a very spacious feel with proper window support.

Hello everyone,

there is news. Yesterday we were at the architect again and received new sketches. Not yet implemented in CAD, so you have to think a little bit into it and there are no views either.

Garages
We will probably build two garages after all, but then it will be difficult with the light shafts in the basement, we still have to take a closer look at that. The storage room to the right of the kitchen will be on the other side of the house, so we create space for a larger window above the kitchen work counter.

Ground floor
- We still have to rethink the fireplace and TV corner. The idea is possibly to build the fireplace viewing window so that a corner protrudes into the hallway. Whether that is technically and statically feasible we don't know yet. But it would be a cool thing. Alternatively, a built-in cupboard for vacuum cleaner, toilet paper, paper waste, etc. would go into the niche.
- Guest WC: has no window because of the garage, I would like to swap it with the wardrobe area at the entrance. However, this would then no longer be so spacious. Does it make sense to still include a shower here? There would be space. We have two upstairs and a bathroom with a shower will also be in the basement because of the fitness room. Four would probably be over the top, right?

Upper floor
Bedroom – the bed would be placed on the wall opposite, the door then either opposite the staircase or the utility room.

Parent area – we are aware that we now have to go through the hallway again to get to the bathroom and dressing room. But I think we cope better with that than with sliding doors. I find sliding doors rather impractical for frequent use and have experienced that they are rarely used and also close less tightly than normal doors when it comes to noise. Possibly one could still look at whether dressing room and bedroom could be swapped somehow. However, then the large lift-and-slide door on the ground floor would also have to be replaced.

Hey,
does no one have an opinion about the shower in the guest toilet on the ground floor and swapping the toilet and the cloakroom so that the guest toilet can get a window?

What is going on here, everyone speechless with horror??

Does anyone perhaps know how tall a garage usually is? And how high can a [Lichtband] be set Max. (that is, how much distance must still be left to the ceiling)?

So our light strips were partly installed directly under the concrete ceiling. Only 5cm of insulation was in between.

Regarding the floor plan: The large entrance area appeals to me, but with the large hallway behind it, you have a total of 30sqm of hallway space on the ground floor! Overall, everything is kept quite large. 24sqm kitchen with dining area plus a second dining area in the living room... The shower in the guest WC is not my thing, so I don't have a solution for that. Dressing room and sleeping area separated I find okay, but not when the bathroom is miles away from it. Somehow unfortunate. Can't a shower bathroom be integrated into the parents' area and keep the large bathroom for the family?
