In the end, you have to like it.

Well, you’re basically right, but the floor area is at least 11.6m². The slanted ceilings naturally reduce the space. But you can just forget about the dressing room.

I also like nice, large staircases, but the space has to be there. 11 x 9.5+ is a comfortable size, but not a castle. I find such a monster oversized. Somehow disproportionate. What do you think? Because of that, there is simply too little space left in the rooms.

We have the same problem, but stairs always take up "too much" space. We are now focusing on using the space under the stairs and designing them visually so that they are also an eye-catcher...

Is a different type of staircase an option for you? We definitely don't want angled steps, and we also find a completely straight staircase somewhat dangerous and uncomfortable. A 90-degree landing instead of 180 degrees doesn't make it easier with floor plans either, since the stair access/exit isn't in one place...

I wouldn't say that now, since the dining area there was simply too tiny. But in my opinion, this isn't the best solution either.

Just by superficially looking at the floor plans, I immediately agree with you. We also intuitively liked it very much, but unfortunately it had significant disadvantages in practice. The cooking area was not optimal and the dining area was really tiny.

That's exactly why we are here. At the moment, our thoughts are going in the direction shown in my , but only making the bay window at the front 25cm deep. The difference should then benefit the living room on the ground floor and definitely the dressing room upstairs.

Rethinking the bay window is the obvious thing. We originally wanted to insist on the 50cm bay window, because otherwise the full clinker variant probably wouldn't look right. But since we now want to build the color-contrasted plastered bay window at the front for visual separation, as in , it doesn't need to protrude so far. The contrast now comes from the different material and color and no longer from the geometry and shadow casting.

Then the footprint of the house would be 11x9.75 with the 25cm bay window.

On Thursday, we have an appointment with the general contractor and will discuss this. Afterwards, the planner will give us a new draft, incorporating our change requests. We also still need to include the short roof eaves and 35° gable roofs. We will then "piece together" the windows as well.

I do not find the bathroom furnishings successful, the position of the WC and shower specifically... I would find it uncomfortable to shower directly at the entrance, maybe just a matter of taste, but in my opinion it should be better.
