My main use of the attic is really for drying laundry.. No matter if it’s storming, snowing, raining, freezing, or the sun is blazing.. the laundry hangs there obediently and dries wonderfully on its own, without being in the way. I go up there regularly and appreciate the comfortable staircase. We also have a lot of tools up there and need to access them again and again. Our staircase up requires a space of W 1.03 x L 2.82 meters. That’s economical and still comfortable. The cost from the local carpenter including installation was 3000,- EUR. If it might be an option for you , then I see such a staircase in the entrance hallway. Here’s our situation.. There is an insulated steel door to the attic. For headroom when going up we also installed a roof window. That provides quite a few centimeters at the critical point..

We have a fixed staircase to the (noch) not yet developed attic and I do not want to miss it either. I do not want to have to carry suitcases, Christmas decorations, furniture, etc. up a ladder. And if we do expand upstairs someday, it is already planned for.

We have decided that we will go with the Studiobinder. Thank you very much for the suggestion and your opinions on this! In the meantime, we also inquired about dry floor joists, but they are not included in the „Programm" of the home builder... I still have to ask about moving the front door. Is a submission to the building authority required for this? It would be good if we don't have to wait any longer and can start in April.

I would simply insert the change of the door in the execution plan. Whether the glass panel and the hinge are on the left or right does not matter.

Hip roofs, like lift-and-slide doors and wide garage doors, earn extra points for their villa feeling in the eyes of many builders. The gable roof has a gray bread image, and you want leather seats. Today, you want to have what only better earners could afford as parents at the same age – no matter how little use it is.

Half-hipped roof "but not everyone can pull it off; you have to have the right figure, otherwise it doesn’t look right."
Unfortunately, my favorite mansard roof is pushed to the sidelines by many development plans.

Here, as I said before, I would prefer a gable roof. And I would take the stairs here as an insert, but with a pulley above the hatch so that two people can separate carrying and ladder climbing.

um, that may be true for some, but honestly, it was neither a plus nor a minus for us. We had previously received an offer from another regional company with a gable roof, which we also liked, but it was much more expensive. We like hip roofs, but not because I feel like I’m in a villa, otherwise we would have built a townhouse. I find both roofs beautiful, and there are pros and cons. That has nothing to do with our parents. Those are just superficial things that are not very important to us. What was important to us was brick, as it fits better into the surroundings. Mullioned windows were also on the wish list, although I’m now glad we decided against them.
