Good news: today the excavator arrived and the earthworks progressed well.

Bad news: the archaeologists from the county, whom we were required to have on site according to the building permit, found something beneath the topsoil. So far in eight places... bones and ceramics from the Middle Ages. They are probably each a kind of medieval trash bin. :) That means a construction stop. They are trying to resolve this within 1-2 days so that it can hopefully continue... hope dies last.

Update: the earthworks continued yesterday initially with the construction road, from 1 p.m. the archaeology department of the district released everything again.

I quote:

“In total, we had 21 archaeological findings, mainly pits and post holes.

The findings date from prehistory, early Middle Ages, and modern times (around the end of the Thirty Years' War).

The pits were not excavated because they lie below the assumed construction depth, they were only documented and measured."

It goes on! I’m trying to get an overview, the prehistory is already really intense!

Morning! We are already at the roof stage and had the topping-out ceremony on Monday evening! So far everything is going smoothly and we are making good progress. We spend a lot of time at the construction site, but of course we are laymen. Our construction supervisor helps us a lot and regularly checks that everything is going properly. We are very happy with this decision, even though there have been no major defects so far.

We have now chosen tiles and are now taking care of the "remaining" flooring in the bedrooms and living area. Originally we wanted parquet, but laminate would probably be cheaper and more practical with children.

We definitely do not regret the studio binders! You can already see that a lot of storage space has been freed up!

I am a little annoyed about the window in the bedroom. That was somehow pointless.

We even have a large double-wing terrace window/door. We don't want to miss it anymore.

Yes, I meant the second window which is too much. We already have a terrace door in the bedroom.
