That's why first drafts are often bigger than the budget allows. I have certainly never seen a draft where the client said, "Oh, that's too small for me, the budget allows more." I understand your opinions, but I see it a little differently. In this case, he is not like a salesman, we know each other here in the village and he wants everyone to be satisfied in the end, because it is not beneficial for him if people say around here that he doesn’t care. He doesn’t depend on us and has enough to do, plus he clearly goes the other way and "started small" trying to pack our requirements into the most compact space possible.
