Wow
Really cool ideas.
Actually, I need a few days to think about such a floor plan first.
But my first feeling would be:

The parents’ area is really something. I personally prefer it to be more open, for example, the walk-in closet wouldn’t have to be separated by a wall. The office, of course, should be.
Also, the living room would be too separated from the kitchen. And I would move the entrance area. Or rather, the living room seems too small to me in relation to the dining area. And I don’t like a “kitchen corridor.”

The kids’ rooms are too far away from the garden for me, because I really have the idea that our children could go outside through the floor-to-ceiling window in summer. Whether that really makes sense, “also because of possible mess,” I don’t know, but I would like the kids’ room windows to face south.

But I think I recognize the potential and possibilities you meant.

Also, the floor plan would really leave the terrace variants open or offer several options.

Well, I have also called my railway carriage a shack, so I think a shed roof, well executed, could definitely be cool... But the question is how....

We have already roughly discussed the L-shape with a construction company, and the conclusion was that it is within the realm of possibility. If I find the right solution. Budget-wise, however, without roof overhang.

Edit: so for the terrace. Or rather, I'm not in favor of it if it takes light away from the windows.

I'm thinking of a neighborhood in my hometown with several houses that have shed roofs. With rental apartments. They were known to be correspondingly loud in the wind. But there was a lot of wood used there, and they were quite tall and steeply pitched.

We definitely like the floor plan very much.
And with the bay windows, the house also gets more charm.

Yes, I also once worked on Kerstin’s suggestion, but only in my mind. I will still put it down on paper, and who knows what will come of it.

This here was my attempt about 2 months ago or so?

But I don’t really like this idea that much, but my ideas would be taken into account... that long hallway... Kerstin’s suggestion would be more suitable there.

And the following was our inspiration: I have actually had the bungalow on my radar for years. However, it is overall better solved because of the side entrance:

A staircase from the utility room to the attic is definitely a great idea. But you would probably have to build with more than a 22° roof pitch, right? How much standing height do you have at 22° or at 35°, without knee walls?
And if I understood correctly, there is also a price difference? Not because of material, but the roof construction? Or the company said they could build 22° cheaper than 35°?
Anyway, with a staircase, 35° probably makes more sense, right? Because then the wall would have to be raised, or a insulated door? Or how do you solve that?

With all other variants (L or like Kerstin calculated in an example), I (still) can’t get any further. Sometimes it feels so cramped to me. And I find my plan or Steffi’s arrangements simply nicely structured. And “rooms lined up carelessly” might not be the right word for my railway carriage, but it has no charm when you come in: this cabinet of doors... And when you think about how much happens in a hallway with a family of four... sometimes chaotic too, when it has to go quickly..
I still believe I simply have to really stage our hallway and have at first created one version with a wide hallway. But that creates a huge living room again... Then, of course, the living room was refined.
And a version with a side entrance.

Just for fun, here are my unfinished alternatives. And yes, it’s basically just the railway carriage modified.

I’m slowly feeling my way forward...

A First, just the hallway different: wider at the entrance area.

B House shorter and wider:

C Side entrance: (which we don’t necessarily want.)

Up the stairs. We have that. Additional cost 8000 plus tax. Roof pitch 35 degrees, stairs, door, small hallway upstairs, everything insulated. Plenty of headroom. Do it. It's great, like a basement, but upstairs instead of downstairs. Karsten
