That doesn't sound so bad at all. What disadvantages have you noticed? If he is on the road every day, how much electricity does the device then consume? I, for example, am not home very often, especially in the summer. It would certainly be enough to run the device once a week. Can it then handle an entire apartment?

Just before the threshold, I switch it off, roll it back and forth twice, and pull it over the threshold in wiping position. So far, it has always worked.
I know the handling with the cable.
It really takes some practice. I have the cable pulled relatively taut in the cable holder and also hold it in the hand with which I operate the lever. Works great. That’s why I always have one hand free to manage the rest of the cable.

Disadvantages: The filter is a bit fiddly to remove and clean. But once you get the hang of it, it’s fine. The device needs to be cleaned underneath regularly (a vacuum cleaner brush has to be cleaned too) The "wheels" collect dust and then squeak. When you are at home, that’s a bit annoying. Electricity: No idea. I haven’t really thought about that yet... At our place, it cleans about 55 m² daily on weekdays on the ground floor (utility room and storage room are closed, so it doesn’t have to go in there). It manages that easily with the battery. According to the description, it charges in between if necessary and then continues where it left off. But you shouldn’t compare the performance to a real vacuum cleaner!!! You still have to do a "proper" vacuuming at regular intervals.

How are the mopping robots? For example, the iRobot Braava 380T (Testsieger) I had thought about installing a floor with a glossy finish some time ago. But then I abandoned the idea because the cleaning effort is too high. You can certainly see every barefoot step quickly on this type of floor. However, if such a mopping robot runs its round daily, this problem probably hardly exists anymore, at least that's what I assume. Dust particles should also be removed enough by a mop that is regularly in use so that vacuuming will hardly be necessary. However, I am not at all informed about the technology currently available. What can you tell me about it?

Regarding the power consumption of the VR200: In Eco mode, 50 watts per cleaning cycle are specified. In normal mode, 70 watts. Regarding the topic of mopping robots: I have not found anything reasonable on the market so far. Let me know if you find something.

I have to remember this thread, as we will soon also get a vacuum robot. However, we have absolutely no idea which model we should choose.
