So far, I have not had any experience with this type of vacuuming, but with our new build next year, we will probably get one on the recommendation of our architect! Originally, I wanted a central vacuum system (friends built with a central vacuum 10 years ago) and are enthusiastic. When I mentioned this idea to my architect, she just looked at me with big, startled eyes. And immediately advised us to get robot vacuums; most of her clients do it that way nowadays. A central vacuum system would have cost us from €4,000! For that money, I can put a small, hardworking helper on each of my 3 floors.

We have returned the VR 200 and will not purchase another one for the time being. For us, the concept is still too immature. And for another care case, we simply lack the time. We will look at the next model again and make a new decision.

Who says? The architect??? Then she has no/little idea...

It's certainly not a cheap vacuum cleaner, but €4k is exaggerated. Pure materials for us for three floors plus garage are just under €1,300. Just the piping with the suction sockets cost me €220 in EL, then I have all options open for later (the central unit will only be purchased once the important things are paid).

No, I asked the price from the manufacturer of my acquaintance!

Then maybe ask another manufacturer - they all have the coolest price expectations anyway (see also laundry chute).

Note: In construction, usually do not be satisfied with just one offer - unless you are satisfied with it yourself.

Well, maybe think about it sometimes. If it already costs over 1500 with maximum own effort without a suction device, why should 4k all in be so expensive? I think the craftsmen do not work for free and then have to plan 5 years of warranty into the costs.
