If you want to exclude an area with the VR200, you can do this either by placing an obstacle (rather cumbersome), closing the door, or using a strip that you place on the floor.

the VR 200's magnetic tape lies loose on the floor and can be removed at any time without leaving any residue.
It even works if you place it under a carpet up to a maximum thickness of 1 cm.

I think means that, as I also read it, the Vorwerk measures or orients the room using a laser. It is also mentioned that after the Vorwerk has recharged itself, it starts again where it left off. This only works if the device remembers the waypoints (the route), which is done using laser technology. Apparently, paths (areas) can also be programmed. At least that's what I read on the manufacturer's website.
