Yes and no. First of all, a lamp would never be a reason for me to lower the ceilings. Especially not when I only have 2.50 m height. On the other hand, flat ceiling lights in the kitchen might generally be more practical. But when chopping onions, I still like to use extra under-cabinet lights for hanging cabinets or work lights that I have on the wall. I suppose we shouldn't expect a kitchen island in this old building either, so the discussion about that is moot.

Nowadays, I would rather work with flat light panels to make the light even more diffuse (=softer, more pleasant).

If the pendant light is at nose height, it's much easier to get rid of the dust, isn't it? ;)

That's why I was talking about build-up spots. You don't lose height, but you don't have to hang conspicuous lights.

I did a rough calculation, what do you think about it? Are the values plausible?
I assumed funding from BAFA (heating replacement 35%) and KfW (individual measures, 15% of 60k €).
Too optimistic? Or even set too high for the small area of 110 sqm?

Disposal gutting 2.5 k€
Roof with external insulation and 1x skylight 45k €
Heating and sanitary 35 k€
Kitchen 15k €
Seal guest WC and bathroom, tiles, sanitary objects 10k €
Vinyl/parquet floors (materials only) 8k €
Windows 5x small (basement, guest WC), 1x lift-and-slide door terrace, 8x standard size, front door, single garage door, basement door 22.5 k€
Basement ceiling insulation (materials only) 2k €
Drywall partitions (approx. 10 m running length, materials only) 5k €
Interior plaster (basement materials only, rest contracted out) 12.5 k€
Electricity (materials only + inspection by master craftsman company) 12.5k €
Interior doors (materials only) 3.5 k €
Furniture 7.5 k €
Other items (structural engineer, energy consultant before start of work, unforeseeable...) 20k €
Photovoltaic system 20k €
= 221 k €

- Funding 35% of 40 k € = 14k €
- Funding individual measures roof and windows 15% of 60k € = 9k €

= 197 k €

When gutting, I can give you the tip that you can give away some things via [Kleinanzeigen]. You might even find people who want to take them out themselves. Windows and doors, for example, will surely find enthusiasts.

I wouldn’t say old-fashioned. But you are shaped by certain things.
A conservatory stands for an extension, gain of living space and light.
A conservatory does not stand for an ugly extension, cheap construction, or something that does not fit the house.

First and foremost, you should free yourself from what you find beautiful or don’t like. You should try to get as much as possible out of the development plan regarding “space,” as much as your budget allows. Ceiling height counts, too. Like with the heating topic, there are always different options for implementation. And you also have to take the house into some consideration. There are, for example, glass extensions that are quite nice. The wood could also be any color, and the window sizes could be individual if you do it yourself.
Small rooms tolerate rather low ceilings. But low ceilings can feel confining.

I see the problem that the mentioned 100 sqm is not the actual and official living area, but only the floor area.
But that would be clarified by a floor plan drawing. Do you know the floor area of the ground floor? That is, the exterior dimensions?

Later, you can implement according to taste.
