Hehe, what else is he supposed to say. Yes, I made it especially expensive for her, didn't they sound submissive enough? Or I thought I'd try one stupid one, there's always a few.

I already thought the €39,000 for our roof was too expensive. Luckily, it could be solved differently. But crazy how little they budget for the work?? For us already in 2017 an hourly wage of €79....

79 euros netto for a roofer??? In 2017??? Maybe regional differences - here rural in NRW.

I can totally live with the 32k euros.

Well, you can't always demand decent pay in all possible professions and then not be clear about how the billable hourly rates increase as a result. When I think about the hourly rates of our external software developers/IT consultants (145 to 190 net), then the craftsperson hourly rates are still far behind.

Yeah, I can do the math too. I'm also in the service industry, we sell 120 euros net / hour. But you really have to keep things in perspective. At 80 euros net hourly rate in the roofing trade, either the partner pockets 40%, or his people all go home with 6,000 gross, or he should urgently work on his overhead cost structure. Of course, if the market allows it, you can also charge 80 euros per hour as a roofer. But I don't believe that, at least not in rural areas.

Roof tiles aren't that expensive. I recently ordered Nelskamp Sigma for the garden shed, and I paid 1.25€ net per piece. The requirement is 10 pieces per sqm, so for 110 sqm you have about 1400€ net for field tiles. For verge and ridge tiles, on small or more elaborate roofs, it's easy to spend almost the same amount again.
