Well, a degree ALONE doesn’t always help. That’s clear. You should of course also be a bit smart and able to negotiate...

You may be right about many things. In my environment, I only have comparisons between pharma, insurance, banks, industry, logistics, medicine, etc...
I have no comparison to social pedagogy, hairdressing, automotive, office clerks, etc... But I could imagine that these professions unfortunately pay a bit less.

In the industries I mentioned, you have to be pretty dumb to earn under 3000 net with >5 years of professional experience including a degree. (Part-time and entry after a long break excepted)

Wage dumping? Not present here. At most, there are totally overcrowded professions because everyone somehow wants to work in the "office." As a cleaning lady, you can earn more here than some average office clerk or industrial clerk. Banks—since when do they pay well? I don't necessarily find 3,000 net to be little, and there are many with diplomas and masters who don't have that. However, there are also many with less than 3,000 net per full earner, and they have a little house with relatively good financing.

Wow. Intense. I wouldn't have thought that with a master or diploma...

But say with 4k net and financing around 350k, that's impressive!

Additional costs 250,-, reserves 250, car 750, food 850,-, insurance 200,-, clothing 150,-, phone/internet 50,-, then the repayment of say 1,500€.
That's exactly 4K.

No vacation, broken washing machine, cinema, braces, sports club, toys... impressive.

I wouldn't do it with 4000,-...

Why on earth should anyone spend 850 on food or 750 on the car? The three of us easily get by with half each. Savings for the next car included.
