Well... 2 graduates with full-time jobs... This is usually what comes out of it.
And just look at the houses in your area... Look at the cars on the street...
You don't seriously believe they all only inherited them?! Some always shout "it's just leasing!". Well, even that installment has to be paid initially.
I would be interested in the German average salary if you remove all social welfare recipients, Hartz IV recipients, and those earning +500 net on top of Hartz IV.
So, if you can't earn at least 4000,- net per person, why would you need to study?! (From a financial perspective)
Here you have relatively recent figures from 02/2017.
The median is at 3000€ gross. So quite far from your 4000€ net.
An acquaintance with 75k€ gross + wife working had a house built for 600k€ (with a 10-year fixed interest rate) and leased 2 new cars. I don't need to look on the street to know that many show-offs are out there. I prefer people who have a 10-year-old Passat in their carport and the wife drives a 15-year-old Polo.
You don't have to pretend to be someone when you are a nobody.
Not every degree can earn you 4000€ net. There are also people who study according to their personal preferences/interests and then earn 1950€ net. That wouldn’t be my thing, but you shouldn’t generalize the topic.
As for leasing, any normal clerk or university graduate earning 1950€ net can afford a 5 Series BMW. Whether you want that is rather the question.
