No building land due to new EU native model?

We are even willing to move significantly further away from Munich to get a building plot. Then we both drive at least 1 hour one way to work. If we move completely away, I think the salary will look very different again.

With the people we sometimes see during viewings, we already think that we belong more to the "normal" ones. Because for many "Munich locals," money apparently doesn't matter at all. There, houses or plots are simply bought within a few minutes despite the extreme prices without batting an eye.

I already said, it’s just sick what’s going on with real estate prices in Munich and everything within reach of it. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether or how far they want or have to go along with it (you are apparently in the luxurious position of not having to). We voted with our feet (not only because of the real estate prices) and fled this madness before Söder became Prime Minister...

Forgot the smiley to indicate that the otherwise rarely stupid post is not entirely serious?!

Why, he is right after all. That is the only way to get into the system. There are no others. (Although, usually there are, namely with a severe disability degree. But THEN it really becomes absurd)

Commuting far and accepting an hour travel time is even less compatible with a future family. The travel time directly affects working hours and thus earnings.

The market down there is mercilessly overheated. And even if you are financially well off, you can tell there are always (many) who are even better off. I think the bottom line is that this is the wrong time.

That the income hasn’t been there forever is okay. I was more concerned with the outlook into the future. €15K p.a. savings rate with €6.5K income is not a lot, but little.

But it corresponds to reality. We initially had a verbal rejection because we earned too much. And then we did get the property, due to slightly lower income because of parental allowance and because the second child was on the way. Without the children, we would not have received approval.

The municipalities aim to settle large families with middle incomes. I find that absolutely fair. You cannot expect to benefit from subsidized land with above-average income to become even richer. We have 5500 net with 2 children (child benefits are included here) and save 1000€. You really should step up your saving now while you can. Children cost money.
