But what is the reason? What does the claim to the location (=property) have to do with the claim to the house? Does the car also have to be chosen according to the house and/or property?

Objectively, there is no reason. You can also put steel rims with hubcaps on a Ferrari. But people usually don't do that. Then you choose a different car.

And I see it similarly with the property. Whoever spends exorbitant amounts on farmland will also build accordingly. Otherwise, it can be wise to settle a few kilometers away from the city.

For us, 3 km can make up to 500 euros per m2. I'd rather drive 5 minutes longer to the city.

So we would have had to build a corrugated iron hut. I don't understand the logic.

We are then already 20 km away from the city and in the middle between our workplaces. We also don’t want to uproot our children here. Grandmas and friends all live here. We also pay 1200 euros cold for 90 square meters. By the way, we have 2 children.

500 euros for three kilometers is crazy, but I guess there must be some reason for that. Maybe a dramatically worse public transport situation?

Judging simply by how often I read this argument here as criticism of construction projects (as an indicator that someone does not intend to adhere to this "rule"), it seems that at least outside your peer group this is not generally the case.
I'm basically out of the loop when it comes to car comparisons, but it seems to me that builders of cheap houses on expensive land might just skip the hubcaps altogether because they don't care so much about what the neighbors think. Or they might drive alloy wheels because they can still afford that (unlike the builders-from-my-was-very-expensive-land-so-I-have-to-go-all-out-on-the-house type).

Again no information about the property. Well, then it all still seems to be a lot of hot air.
