House for 260,000 euros unrealistic?

Yes, that is hard to put into words. In our neighborhood, some people built like that. They have 4 small children, and a house with a garden is definitely better than no house with a garden. But I would get depressed there.. dark small windows, low ceilings, staircase with the charm of the 90s, white plastic windows with sharp edges and black seals, veneered beech doors and matching laminate. No skylights, no shading, no ventilation, radiators... etc. I am glad we could afford a bit more.

And where did they let you out?

Or should you first repeat the 2nd grade and pay attention in math this time?

260,000€ / 120m2 equals a price per square meter of over 2150€!

We are paying 245,000€ for 140m2 with already upscale fittings, MOVE-IN READY! And now you come...

Or read the first post again and realize that it is about the plot price. In Bavaria and BW this actually happens more and more often.. No normal earner can afford it anymore.

That is individual and therefore it is nonsense to transfer the quality expectations of client A to client B. No one has ever addressed the lack of light even in the Town & Country house – keep in mind that millions of Germans live in apartments with windows on only two sides. All still alive. You have to weigh how much of an “indoors” person you are: the less, the more Town & Country speaks in favor. And not everyone has an aesthetic obsession like Bookstar or me. There Town & Country is fine too. Only: as soon as you place increased value on appearance and feel inside, you get into trouble there. Which type are you?

Oh yeah? Then I must be misunderstanding something.

I read it as he has 260,000€ for the HOUSE including incidental costs.

And in response to that, I wrote that he can pay 260,000€ for the house alone. No more and no less.

So, there are some houses from Town & Country that have several floor-to-ceiling windows on the ground and upper floors as standard, and the rest of the windows are usually not small either. Ventilation is also standard. Since flooring is not included in the base price, the "matching laminate" was probably a builder's decision. Taste in doors, stairs, windows, etc. varies anyway (for example, I usually don't find anthracite windows nice even if they're currently trendy).
Clearly, the Town & Country standard is not particularly high, but it's also not a dump where you should only go to sleep.
