You can put a stool in the generously sized utility room. It's also better to put wet shoes in the utility room; who wants to constantly trip over dirty shoes in the hallway... We have a fairly spacious hallway, almost 12m², and I get a bit annoyed about it because it's basically wasted space. You can't design a 145m² house for peak events. So that everyone has to get dressed in the hallway at the same time, everyone has to go to the bathroom at the same time, and you're having a party with 25 guests in the living room...
But everyone having to leave at the same time often happens in a family, doesn't it, or do you not go on trips with your family? And at least 3 people have to leave together daily when the kids are being dropped off. We also have a relatively large hallway, and I'm very satisfied with it. We had little space before, which was quite annoying. I find space in the hallway more important than daylight in the hallway. With enough space, you also don't trip over dirty shoes ;). In practice, the kids don't even bring their shoes to the utility room by themselves.
