My Swabian homeland is sacred to me. I love being there. I enjoy every minute.

You get everything. If you want. For that, you have to work hard.

But you have to search persistently.

If I hadn’t done that, I couldn’t have built my little stand here for that money either. It would have become massively more expensive.

I saved massively.

Simple recipe, like with the Thermomix.

- Be persistent
- Never give up
- Patience
- Friendliness
- Negotiation
- Gut feeling + intuition (yes, men can have that too) + being at the right place at the right time

Always tell yourselves: I can fool only myself. Pursue your plans. Be consistent. Reject ridiculous prices and proposals.

There’s always something possible. It’s doable.

You have to help shape it. You are the builders. That’s not a headline above the newspaper with the same name. That’s a temporary role in your life when you want to build a house.

Back then I couldn’t plan much. This house-building nonsense came suddenly.
90% gut feeling.
10% reason
0.0000001 luck.

Act in a way that makes you feel comfortable.

Thorsten

Similarly, our plot with 660 sqm was about 35 km north of Stuttgart.

The construction costs for our house, 170 sqm plus basement, will be (without additional construction costs) €330,000. Wallpapering walls (or decorating them otherwise) and floor coverings in the living and bedroom areas are not included. However, I have removed some trades. These are electrical, sanitary and heating installations, tiling work, and interior doors. This leaves us now at €276,000, which the general contractor receives from me.

Hello,

Year of construction: 1978

Purchase date: First partial purchase 2003 and the rest in 2014.

Plot: approx. 300m²

Ground floor 80m², upper floor 80m², attic 70m², fully basemented, solid construction, roof with dormer and new roof insulation, attic completely renovated in 2014 (first occupancy after 36 years), windows completely new, garage available.

Total purchase price including incidental costs: approx. €130,000 + approx. €80,000 for renovation work such as roof renewal, attic expansion, and new windows and much more, saved a lot of money through a lot of own work.
Purchase price including incidental costs fully financed, modernization and renewal from own capital, however, I took a little more time for the windows and attic expansion.

Costs for land according to the internet €90/m²
