The problem is that some of the complaints about problems are justified and the children also have to suffer the consequences of the problems...

All of this also didn’t exist back when I went to school. 45 minutes of frontal teaching was the norm. And you know what? It worked. Very well, even.
Today, the problem isn’t too few of the possibilities you mentioned, but too many. Everyone has a new idea they have to implement. Worst example: this learning to write by hearing method. Luckily, that’s (almost) gone everywhere again. However, some student cohorts unfortunately had to endure it, and they still have problems with spelling today.
If we would concentrate again on the core of learning, we would have fewer problems and fewer teachers whining.

PS: children’s coaches here also work voluntarily, by the way. Just like millions of people in many areas of society.

Yes, exactly! Who takes responsibility here now? Who holds teachers, the school administration, or the state accountable? What consequences are there for those who are completely unmotivated, frustrated, and irritable unleashed on our children, thereby partly taking away their dreams and future opportunities? Who supervises teachers? Back then, I failed technical computer science twice at HTL (higher technical school in Austria), although I was very good in the other subjects. The professor was beyond any doubt in terms of expertise, which was regularly checked. What was not tested, however, was whether he could also impart the knowledge to young laypeople. Because of his way of "teaching," I fell into a hole back then that almost ruined my future. The professor is still teaching today, even though he is more than unsuitable for the job.

What worked 15-20 years ago – by the way so well that people were initially shocked after the very first PISA test – is exactly not possible anymore with the TikTok generation from problematic families. Not at all. Not even remotely. You can believe it or not. I also volunteer in the club management. What I wrote above, what I organized, is a hobby for me. We don’t get unpaid coaches. Nice where it still works. But here, even in the one-legged Kreisliga Y, substitutions have to be paid... different topic.

Ask me about math. Bad at school, really good at university. Why: Especially in math, frontal teaching in age-homogeneous groups is the dumbest idea there is. Every semi-committed teacher knows that. What does he have to do? Exactly... That’s what I meant by “having to act against your own knowledge.”

Addendum: The original German phrase das haben wir schon immer so gemacht sounds exactly like this, by the way...

Strange that it also worked for hundreds of years. And not badly at that.
