Hello everyone,
I am new here and searched the SuFu for a long time for a suitable topic but found nothing. Therefore, I think it is not wrong to post in this thread.
I have the following question:
I am currently building with Weberhaus and am so far mostly satisfied. I understand that there can always be some issues. The topic of ancillary construction costs was also clear to me from the start and was communicated to me directly by Weberhaus during the consultation.
However, there is one thing that really annoys me:
The contract was signed at the beginning of April 2017. Meanwhile, the plot has been purchased (also April 2017), all ancillary plot costs have been paid, the building permit is approved. 85% of the architect's fees have been paid (which you get reimbursed by Weberhaus after completion, by the way) – and two weeks ago we attended the equipment consultation at the factory.
Then came a shock!
Due to new legal fire protection regulations, for all builders who complete their houses after 2017, new switches (!) must be installed in the fuse boxes in the house.
Please note that this only concerns the switches (!! meaning those little things there), not a completely new fuse box.
An additional charge of €3,000 is due for this!!! I heard about this for the first time at the equipment consultation. Anyone of you who has already been to this appointment knows that at the very beginning of the house planning, you set a budget for the different areas of the house and carefully plan the money you borrow from the bank.
It happens that sometimes you overshoot the budget a little here and there, but then you have to save somewhere else, which is logical.
When I asked since when this was known, the equipment advisor told me May 2017.
Now I wonder why we weren’t informed about this topic by our sales representative or at the latest by the project manager?!
My wife and I vented our frustration at Weberhaus first.
Then we were told bla bla our Weberhaus customers get the whole thing for just under €2,000…
Yeah great, still a lot of money for basically nothing.
I would expect Weberhaus to make more concessions to me. Of course, Weberhaus cannot do anything about changes in the legal situation, but then I want:
- first, as a builder, to be informed immediately when the matter is settled and
- second, more than just: "oh we’ll give you a few euros back"...
For example, they could have issued us an equipment voucher so that we at least pay the extra cost at Weberhaus or buy more there than planned, but this is a bit too weak for me.
Are there any other builders here who are also currently in the building phase and have experience with these switches in the fuse box!?
If yes, were you informed early enough?
Regards,
Tobi
Honestly, I don’t know what you mean by switches.
Do you mean a surge protector?
That apparently has indeed become mandatory, but normally that does not cost €3,000.
