We already knew beforehand that it would be really expensive and that’s exactly how it turned out... Of course, the hopeful wish to at least lay the floor coverings ourselves didn’t come true either. With all the organizational stuff, we were already sufficiently busy.

Although the price is not as castrated as the functions. (At least from what I have read so far in the KNX forum.)

Hello , I took a look at your blog and am really impressed with your terraced house. I would feel comfortable there too, although four floors are quite a challenge.

I think your room layout is great - it’s not the typical terraced house floor plan - the living space is the kitchen

I’m also a fan of terraced architecture, thus of terraced houses, and I always find it appealing that people choose this space-saving way of building and don’t just focus on the "I want to walk all around my house principle" when selecting their home. Most then still build a garage between the boundary and the house so walking all around isn’t possible

I’m curious about the final product, also regarding the communal outdoor facilities with the private gardens!

Best regards, Yvonne

Hello Yvonne,

I am very glad that you like it. The layout posed serious challenges for our builder. At first, he resisted the kitchen position because he had never done it that way before. Then he was somewhat reluctant to remove all the interior walls, as he couldn’t imagine that we wouldn’t want to have children later.

The open kitchen-living area has always been a dream of ours because we cook a lot for guests and our life revolves more around the dining table than the TV.

The three floors plus basement also made us think a bit, but ultimately the deciding factor was that we currently live on the fifth floor without an elevator and have gotten used to it quite well.

A single-family house was never really an option for us. On the one hand, because of the garden for which we will have little time, but mainly because we were looking in the city and there are no individual plots there.

We only ended up with a terraced house because the location is so great – originally we were only searching for a condominium.

We also really like the settlement. Everything is designed with greenery, cars are not allowed on the properties, and fences are also not permitted.
