Why building a house almost always costs more than calculated

Hello,

A window in WWII costs about 150 euros extra. A reasonable roof security is not expensive. Many property converters go in there. Tiles lifted and insulation cut through and voilà, you’re standing in the bedroom. A safe for 500 euros built into the wall holds a lot of valuables. A simple alarm system installed yourself and linked to your phone doesn’t do much.
Everything is better than a phobia.

I used the notary/land registry cost calculator from Interhyp. Additionally, the property transfer tax.

Interestingly, the notary costs were noticeably lower than the calculators showed me before - back then we had such momentum in our further planning

Is there no phobia to be read in the totality of these prevention measures?

Hello ypg,

I don't think so. Rather experiences and official requirements.

So if I look at the number of households in Germany and the number of burglaries, panic is often spread again and again in various media, but nevertheless the risk of a burglary is apparently only in the low single-digit percentage range... so I'd rather enjoy my life than drive myself crazy over something like that.
