You leave all the important because right questions from – e.g. we still don’t know who plays the grand piano how often – unanswered, especially the fundamental issues that would be so important. Very constructive positive (which you regularly overlook) and negative criticism has been expressed here over 18 pages, from both you could take away much more than what you are expressing now. What I hear is more whining because not everyone is bursting into cheers, but rather raising – justified – objections... a shame. You have a great opportunity here for added value, don’t let it go to waste when you are here anyway...

Good, perceptions can be so different :)

As I said, I take some things with me and some not.

For example, the topic of wings. This is initially a family heirloom since 19xx from my grandfather. I can play with it a little too, but maybe one of the children will play with it.
In that respect, it can end up as decoration or it will be used after all. Nonetheless, it is planned.

We will also arrange the furniture at a later time, and still I see a middle ground where the furniture adjusts to the room rather than the other way around.
Furniture lasts X years and some things have to be bought new anyway, for example the entire kitchen.

But whether marble or chipboard, a kitchen needs certain dimensions. Should jackets go into the office because the wardrobe has no space? Why resort to small delicate sofas when dreaming of XXL? Just because you build walls without planning the life inside? That is only half the battle.

I really cannot understand the whole criticism for the life of me. The ground floor works wonderfully, the open space with the large window front is very beautiful, and the kitchen is perfectly placed. I would have even left the initial angled door between the kitchen and the open space, because it gives a direct view of the dining table. Besides, it lightens the whole thing up a bit. The dressing room/bathroom/bedroom wouldn’t be my taste either and can certainly still be optimized. Otherwise, some people here who loudly claim otherwise would be licking their fingers if they had such a house. : don’t let anyone talk you out of it. There are people here with very different tastes when it comes to architecture and interior design. You would criticize their houses just as much as they do yours!

A long hallway without direct sunlight can look really modern! It all depends on the lighting...

Thanks for a positive point :)

As I said, I am currently favoring the proposed change in the running direction of the cube and am curious to see what the architect has to say about it.
In fact, I am also somewhat puzzled that he didn’t come up with this simple change himself afterwards.
I hardly see any disadvantage in the change. One of the children's rooms in the northwest corner may be slightly worse than before, but oh well.
If we implement this, it has already been tremendously worthwhile here and my eternal thanks certainly go to the forum!
Nevertheless, I don’t have to adopt everything here.

For example, I still consider the issue with the cut to be a red herring and pseudo, which was in no way justified. The program can set these arbitrarily, and another unrelated architect we once consulted confirmed this to me. I trust him more in this matter.
