So we now have two variants for the hallway. We like Var 2 better, but it has the disadvantage that the entrance door is flush with the wall. In return, there is now a long staircase. Var 1 would still have the door with a kind of windbreak.

On the upper floor, the parents' area is now on the southwest axis and the two children's rooms are on the other side. One is a bit bigger, but you can't have everything. The hallway is much better for it. The staircase area could be provided with 2 long windows for more light both downstairs and upstairs.

We are now much more satisfied with the hallway, but the question remains how to arrange the entrance area. For example, with a canopy from the garage. I have also thought about whether you could simply shift the left side of the house up by one meter and make the kitchen a bit longer, creating a more natural entrance area with a canopy between the kitchen and the garage. Otherwise, there is the consideration whether the stairs should still turn once at the bottom with 3-5 steps. Maybe even with the platform like in the picture.

In the drawing, everything seems a bit smaller, but the parents' area should be 3.8-4m wide. You could one day merge the children's rooms into one, if you ever want to. Maybe there will only be one child after all.

The design in red is from an acquaintance and rather just for fun. I found the idea of the bathroom inside the parents' area interesting, but then you end up with such an impractical hallway there.

@Regarding the basins, I am currently tending toward just one. The children's bathroom is not that big anymore.

Sunday is probably busy for everyone :)

I have entered my idea into the drafts again. I basically like var 1 with the long staircase best, if everything fits with the upper floor, which it actually should. You come in, have a small storage table, and then the hallway with the staircase is there. There are also two elongated windows so that it is bright enough on the ground and upper floors.

That's really a struggle with you, isn't it?
There is a desperate clinging to a staircase that is located on an exterior wall. The staircase is already being placed, even with practical floor plans, rather centrally - I definitely don't know why there is such a strong insistence on this madness of "pushing it against the wall."
It seems to me that the client, meaning you as well as the architect, are more country house lovers, wanting to have it charmingly angled, which does not at all fit the Bauhaus edition. Nor does it fit the planned area.

Mhm... maybe most people are also reluctant to disappoint you with an answer regarding the minor corrections to the entrance situation, i.e. the staircase? You CAN build a two-story entrance hall with a gallery and a curved staircase, looks impressive (happy to provide example pictures) .. but it neither fits the style of your house nor does it provide sensible access to the upper floor without a corridor - for illustration, attached are the floor plans of the ground floor/upper floor of one of the Dessau master houses (Muche/Schlemmer, landing staircase). Your staircase belongs between the guest room and guest WC, alternatively your architect could try a straight staircase on the left side of the dining/living room, which then comes out in the middle of the upper floor. You are spending +/- 3/4 million, living room, dining room, and kitchen are top standard and “luxurious”... the access should be on the same level... I almost liked the very first sketch better, because it had sightlines from the kitchen to the side entrance, deliberately not wanting to be perfect in this area, but delicate... but that is a very personal taste... :)

Whereby: you mentioned, if I remember correctly, a building planning competence that could lead to a marginal position of the staircase (preferably still on the left side in the middle): that flush two-storey construction is only allowed in the staircase area. Therefore, maybe take a look at a stylish example for such a solution: staircase in the Czech Baba villa near Ggl under "Villa Kostal No 9 Baba Jourusek"... have fun! (however, you don't have to aim for the conversion into an open-plan room with a central (!) kitchen ;))
