Again, you are wasting several square meters on the straight staircase and a ridiculous mezzanine. You ruin the somewhat open approach to integrating the staircase into the living space with your sliding door. Then there is a 5 m2 dressing room with 2 (!) doors and a window.

It’s not like these criticisms are coming up for the first time. It could be because of the forest you can’t see for the trees. Or the individual learning curve. Or that you don’t even know what you really want and start copying random houses instead of building your own.

Where is hand washing done?
Where is dirty laundry sorted?
I consider a washing machine in the bathroom a last resort.

Otherwise, yes, the stairs take up square meters.
Where does the chimney come out on the upper floor?

I have come to realize that I am probably not a born spatial planner. But I am not giving up the search for a plan. Plot: access from the southwest. Gable entrance west accordingly. Upper floor: 2 children's rooms, master bedroom with its own bathroom and dressing room, children's bathroom. Ground floor: kitchen, preferably semi-open, living room, dining room, preferably a fireplace exactly between both rooms, home office, utility/technical room, and a guest bathroom without a shower. Carport/garage with equipment. We do not like access to the living/dining room only through the kitchen, so we need a corridor connection. I am really despairing and want to scrap the entire project.

What does your architect earn his dough for? Hopefully not just as a mere draughtsman?

How do you want to know that? – recently you only tinkered with two external drafts (by Katja and by Bien-Zenker), you haven’t shown us any of your own learning results at least. Bien-Zenker, however, has nice floor plans. I showed you two ways: A) to do what was explained to you or B) to oppose the proposed methodology and explain why. That can just as well lead to the same goal, whether you copy or reflect oppositional. But not reflecting at all also leads to no learning success. Two ways, and both you do not take – then what are you here for?

You answer your own question. I show no learning curve and mess around with other people’s drafts. I basically have no problem with that. The tone is just assertive.

Why am I here? To find a proper floor plan that covers our wishes and isn’t harakiri. An architect doesn’t study their subject for years without reason. I come from a completely different field.

Maybe the forum is more for professionals who want to keep to themselves. It would probably be better to take me out of here.

Otherwise, I’ll sit down again to explain why I like something. Origin of the phil’schen golden corner cut. Freely after Miesche.
